Since 1997, AlphaStaff has delivered HR outsourcing solutions to thousands of small and medium-sized businesses across the country, as well as some large organizations. We are searching for a Sales Trainer for one of our premier clients, a market leader in furniture protection plans serving top-tier retailers nationwide. In this role, you will play a vital part in driving the success of their protection plan programs by equipping retail sales teams with the skills and knowledge to succeed. This position blends sales training and account management, requiring someone who thrives in building relationships, delivering impactful training sessions, and representing the brand with professionalism. You'll work closely with retail partners to ensure their sales teams are confident, motivated, and effective in offering these industry-leading solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver in-person and virtual training sessions to retail sales associates, managers, and leadership, focusing on effective strategies to increase protection plan attachment rates.
  • Act as a trusted brand ambassador, fostering strong relationships with furniture store partners to reinforce their confidence in the company's products and services.
  • Conduct one-on-one coaching, group presentations, and new hire training sessions tailored to retail sales environments.
  • Collaborate with management teams to assess training needs, set goals, and measure the impact of training programs.
  • Support ongoing learning through follow-ups, remote consultations, and leveraging tools like Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint.
  • Serve as the point of contact for escalated inquiries related to claims, policies, and procedures, ensuring resolution and building customer loyalty.
  • Track and manage training schedules, store visits, and performance metrics across a territory of 40–50 locations.
  • Travel within the assigned region (including occasional overnight trips as needed) to conduct in-store training and strengthen relationships with retail teams.
  • Partner with account managers to align training initiatives with broader client strategies and goals.

Qualifications:

  • Proven success in retail sales, sales training, or account management, with experience in furniture or warranty-related sales a plus.
  • Excellent facilitation skills, with the ability to deliver engaging and impactful training sessions to both small (3-5) and medium (15-20+) groups.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to connect with retail teams, store managers, and corporate.
  • High energy and confidence, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual meeting platforms like Teams and Zoom.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work weekends and occasional holidays to accommodate retail schedules.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Minnesota for store visits, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in sales training, leadership, or account management.

Compensation and Perks:

  • Competitive compensation package, including base salary and quarterly performance-based incentives (total target compensation $80,000–$100,000 with a base salary of $60,000–$80,000 based on experience and other credentials).
  • Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • Generous PTO policy with accelerated accruals based on tenure.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Opportunity to grow within a dynamic, high-performing team.

Location:

Minnesota-based with travel throughout the state and virtual flexibility; candidates must reside in or near the Minneapolis area or be willing to relocate.

About You:

You’re a dynamic professional who thrives on helping others succeed. You have a passion for sales and an innate ability to motivate and inspire. You understand the retail environment and know how to connect with diverse personalities, from sales associates to senior managers. You’re confident presenting to groups, coaching individuals, and building lasting relationships.

If you have a knack for simplifying complex concepts, a proven track record of success in sales or training, and a drive to make an impact, we want to hear from you – you’ll have the autonomy to own your work and the support of a collaborative team to help you achieve your goals.
